Where this game is much better than the previous three installments is the improvement in the defensive game. Unlike the new game Champion this game doesn't solely rely on moving the joystick in one direction for all punches. What I love is that they keep the rotation for most punches, but they let you tap the joystick in one direction for body hooks and body uppercuts just to give you another quick strike besides your jab and straight. The total punch control was what made the Fight Night series better than the previous Knockout Kings series, and in this game it's very on point. Sure it was a bit goofy like most EA Sports games because things happen in such an unrealistic fashion, but since it's a video game it was no bother.
